Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and composer. Avery Sunshine combines soul gospel with R&B in a distinct combination. She's performed on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's real her name as Denise White. Although she's located in Atlanta but her origins are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she initially began her journey as a musician, playing instruments and singing in church. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical education began in the local R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first track to include her voice was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released exclusively in Japan; it has since been re-mixed by many artists and is an integral part in her live show. Her voice was also featured in the music video for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was commissioned to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director for the play's theatrical version of Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine gained national recognition through her performances on four consecutive days in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing during the President's inaugural in 2009.
