Aaliyah Dana Haughton exploded into fame in 1994, after she dropped her debut album Age Ain't Nothing But a number. Her album, which was launched when she was only 15 years old it went Gold. The album was part of a group that was greatly influenced by R. Kelly and it put the singer in the spotlight. In the year 1996 Jermaine and Timbaland released Aaliyah's second album One In A Million. It featured If Your Girls Only Knew the single that was most popular. Aaliyah's sophomore album, One in a Million came out in the year 1996. It contained the number-one hit single If Your Girl Only Knew. Aaliyah was a part of the legendary martial artist Jet-Li in Romeo Must Die (2000), an action and romance film. The role was offered to her after being spotted by director Joel Silver at an awards ceremony. In 2002 she was in the vampire film Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. She then got into the Matrix in the form of Zee as Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also performed on The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 as well as The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. Aarti Mann is born of Indian descent and was born in Connecticut. Mann, her stage name is an acronym for Mankad which is her name as a married surname. However, she uses both Aarti Mann as well as Aarti Majumdar as her professional names. While her initial career was filled with minor movie and TV parts, she gained recognition in the latter half of 2000s. Her other notable projects include Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. The actress also appeared in a variety of commercials that included Volvo and other major automobile companies. Her home is in Los Angeles with her husband as well as her daughter, and is continuing to develop her acting career.
