Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than 20 years. She is currently the president of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA's majority owners. Buss was born in California and was raised as part of a rich family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon and later manager of Lakers, among other businesses. Their relationship ended in 1972, which caused her to feel that she was emotionally neglected. When she was 19 years old she was able to take over the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as General Manager. Later, she founded in the Los Angeles Blades, a professional team of roller hockey. In the beginning, she was vice-president for the Lakers before taking on the role of President of the Great Western Forum. Buss as well as her five sisters took over his Lakers controlling ownership after the death of Buss' father in 2013. Each sister had the same voice.
